Helpful Information About Thyroid Herbs
Bladderwrack contains high levels of iodine, a trace element that supports thyroid health by producing the thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). These hormones help regulate your metabolism and support proper growth and neurological development. It has been used it for centuries to treat an array of conditions, such as iodine deficiency, obesity, joint pain, aging skin, digestive issues, urinary tract infection, and thyroid dysfunction, including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and goiter development.
Bugleweed inhibits the binding of antibodies to the thyroid gland. These antibodies can cause the most common form of hyperthyroidism, Graves' disease. All these actions may help explain bugleweed's benefit in people with mildly overactive thyroids. Bugleweed is used to lower high levels of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism). It is also used to treat premenstrual syndrome; breast pain; nervousness; trouble sleeping (insomnia); and bleeding, especially nosebleeds and heavy bleeding during menstruation.
Irish Sea Moss has a hight iodine content. Perhaps one of the most important and undervalued benefits of this sea moss is its ability to help balance thyroid hormones. Irish Moss contains the vital thyroid hormone precursor DI-Iodothyronine (DIT), and the thyroid hormones Thyroxin (T4) and Tri-iodothyronine (T3)
Evidence suggests that intake of mullein improve thyroid-related problems by helping with an overactive thyroid gland (a condition called hyperthyroidism).
Poke root is helpful because it has anti-inflammatory properties
