Tick Bites and Lyme Disease - The 3 Remedies You Need

Is That Tick Bite More Than Just a Passing Itch?

Ugh, ticks. Those are some of the most irritating insects, maybe right behind mosquitos. Not only do they bite and make you itch but they can also make you sick. Have you ever heard of Lyme Disease? This is an unfortunate illness I had to deal with.

If you’ve been spending time outdoors, you might be ignoring the early warning signs of Lyme disease.

Tick bites

Growing up on a farm, ticks were just a part of the landscape – annoying, sure, but usually nothing more than that.

Then four years ago, a single tick bite changed everything for me. It left a red welt that spread, and because I didn’t catch it immediately with the right intervention, it spiraled into a systemic battle. I learned the hard way that Lyme disease often hides in plain sight, with symptoms ranging from classic flu-like aches to strange, lingering issues like tremors, anxiety, and migrating pain. The reality is that by the time many tests show positive, the spirochetes have already deeply invaded your system.

I was familiar with ticks and had several bites over the years. I didn’t think much of running through the pasture and picking ticks off of me. It was a normal part of farm life. I did not get antibiotics and it spread through my system.

The Bullseye Rash

Some tick bites can have a very distinct rash pattern.

The classic bullseye rash of Lyme Disease. It doesn’t always mean that you are going to get Lyme Disease from ticks but the likelihood is increased if the bullseye rash appears.

Ticks have what is called the Spirochete. This is an organism with a corkscrew effect as it drills into your skin and enters your entire body.

It doesn’t always mean that you are going to get Lyme disease from these but the likelihood is increased if the bullseye rash appears.

They drill into your system and cause “Auto-immune” type symptoms.

This is important – If you have one of these rashes go to your doctor. You will probably need to start a round of antibiotics.

What happens after the Spirochete enters your body?

The Spirochetes from ticks build up in your system so if you get tested for Lyme Disease when you 1st have the bullseye, chances are you won’t test positive for it. The more it multiplies in your body the more dangerous it can be.

Southern Tick-associated illness” has a lot of symptoms similar to Lyme Disease: Mild flu-like systems, fatigue, muscle pain, and headache.

The Lone Star Tick

  • The Lone Star tick has a more red rash without the spiral effect.
  • The Lone Star tick can sometimes carry a disease called Alpha-Gal – making you sensitive to all mammal meats to varying degrees.

Where can you find ticks?

Ticks are often found in grass and dry leaves. They can also fall on you from trees. *GASP!* It is not uncommon for your dog or cat to bring you a few of these unwelcome guests, either. Ticks also like hot, dry weather.

What should you do?

It’s important to check for ticks regularly when you’re outside and at the very least when you come back inside from any area you could pick them up.

If you develop a bullseye rash – Go to your doctor and ask for an antibiotic for Lyme Disease. Lyme testing does not test positive until the Spirochetes have invaded your system quite deeply. By then, it may too be late for antibiotic treatment. This is when we start the herbal treatment and immune-strengthening foods & exercise.
